交互式实时 3D （RT3D）内容创作和运营平台 Unity 宣布收购综合性视觉效果公司维塔数码（Weta Digital），据 TechCrunch 称，收购金额为 16.25 亿美元。同时，Unity 将利用 Weta Digital 的技术和人才开发特效工具，入局元宇宙，让任何人都能够轻松创作。维塔数码由彼得·杰逊（Peter Robert Jackson）创立，《魔戒三部曲》、《金刚》、《阿凡达》等片中的视效均出自于维塔数码制作团队。
