# Things you should avoid when you are new to crypto

Some key points which I learned during my first months of Crypto: Don’t use stuff which have a high APY, you will loose, trust me Don’t follow people how try to tell you which token to buy and that it will go to the Moon. You can maybe do an exception here for the blue chips like BTC and ETH Don’t interact with protocols which are new/not really known. Could be that its a scam. Don’t try to use to many different chains in the beginning. I would recommend you to try to start with Arbitrum or Optimism, since they have much lower gas fees than ETH mainnet. NEVER, NEVER share your key. In best case use a Hardware Wallet.
