In 1709, an Italian perfumer living in Cologne created a perfume called Eau de Cologne (“Cologne water”), which was loved by the entire high society of Europe. In memory of the great perfume past, the city has a whole Fragrance Museum. But “Cologne water” is a small fraction of what Cologne can boast of. Admire its grandiose cathedral with its beautiful stained glass windows, visit the art gallery of the Wallraf-Richartz Museum, attend one of the classical music concerts or visit the open-air sculpture park. Such a busy walk can be completed in one of the city’s pubs - with traditional Cologne beer “Kolsch”.
