**Chennai Super Kings** (**CSK**) is a professional [cricket franchise](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket) based in [Chennai](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chennai), [Tamil Nadu](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamil_Nadu), [India](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India), that competes in the [Indian Premier League](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Premier_League). Founded in 2008, the team plays its home matches at the [M. A. Chidambaram Stadium](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M._A._Chidambaram_Stadium) in Chennai. The team is owned by [India Cements](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India_Cements) through its Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited holding company. They have won a record five IPL titles (shared with [Mumbai Indians](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mumbai_Indians)), appeared in a record 10 finals and have qualified for the playoff stages 12 times out of the 14 seasons they have played, more than any other team.[\[1\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chennai_Super_Kings#cite_note-1) The team has been captained by [MS Dhoni](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Dhoni) since inception and is currently coached by [Stephen Fleming](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Fleming). The team was suspended for two years from the IPL starting July 2015 due to the involvement of its owners in the [2013 IPL betting case](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_Indian_Premier_League_spot-fixing_and_betting_case),[\[3\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chennai_Super_Kings#cite_note-Suspend-3) and won the title in its comeback season of [2018](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Indian_Premier_League). In addition, they have also won the [Champions League Twenty20](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champions_League_Twenty20) in [2010](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_Champions_League_Twenty20) and [2014](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Champions_League_Twenty20).
