Forest, a set of biological (trees, shrubs, living ground cover, animals and microorganisms, etc.) and abiotic (soil, parent rock, atmospheric air) components on a certain area of the earth's surface. It is a developing and self-regulating ecological system in which all components, due to their close mutual dependence, influence each other, create a specific environment both inside themselves and in adjacent spaces.
