# August 2022 By [dirtbaglu](https://paragraph.com/@0x8e74) · 2022-08-29 --- In Case You Missed It… ---------------------- The Discord has been buzzing about [888Mooncat’s](https://twitter.com/888Mooncat) [proposal to lock metadata](https://snapshot.org/#/bgansv2.eth/proposal/0xc7c3ca046bbc26f433c6be66549fc7bb8f5708d393c44fe196311d8da8e4c6bc). This proposal has had more turn out than probably any other Bastard DAO proposal with more than 1,500 BGANs in attendance. There has also been some heated discussions on the topic as well. It seems most people are in favor of locking metadata at some point, but that the lock should happen gradually and not through a blanket proposal. We are all very passionate about our BGANs, and 888Mooncat had the best intentions of growing the DAO. 888Mooncat is not wrong for saying new collectors don’t want surprises when it comes to their BGAN Punks, and this is very likely true for large investors as well. They also emphasize the need to move the collection on-chain, and in a way finalizing the metadata helps facilitate this. And how these steps lead to Financiation of our NFTs. These kinds of discussions are a big deal for the DAO. Even though this proposal was voted down it highlighted some of the uncertain areas associated with the collection. And there will very likely be a follow-up proposal to achieve the tasks necessary for moving us on-chain, creating permanence, and moving us into the intersection of DeFi and NFTs. 888Mooncat took the initiative to light this fire. Every collector should know what they’re getting into from day 1. But we rarely talk about where BGAN Punks fall in this argument. From the beginning Berk held a “[your BGAN, your call](https://bastardganpunks.club/yourbastardyourcall)” mentality with his creations. Even going so far as to write a smart contract for collectors to write their own licenses for their BGANs (yes, collectors can even make them public domain).
