至正元年是公元1341年，掐指一算，二十七年后已经是1368年了。那也是元朝进入垂垂老矣的动荡日子，兵乱四起，天灾不断，坐在龙椅上的是元世祖忽必烈的五世孙孛儿只斤·妥懽帖睦尔，其名字在蒙古语中有“铁锅”之意，似寄寓了“结实坚固”，其命运却从一出生起，就始终磕碰跌宕艰辛异常。
