Beneath the moon’s soft silver gleam
Where silent waters gently stream
A lonely pine recalls old dreams
Of ancient times and faded schemes
Its needles murmur tales untold
Of winters harsh and summers gold
Of lovers’ vows in days of old
Whose warm embraces now grow cold
The wind composes nature’s verse
That time itself cannot reverse
Each bough a blessing or a curse
In this eternal universe
So listen when the pine trees sigh
Their wisdom never passes by
They hold the secrets of the sky
And watch the centuries go by
Beneath the moon’s soft silver gleam
Where silent waters gently stream
A lonely pine recalls old dreams
Of ancient times and faded schemes
Its needles murmur tales untold
Of winters harsh and summers gold
Of lovers’ vows in days of old
Whose warm embraces now grow cold
The wind composes nature’s verse
That time itself cannot reverse
Each bough a blessing or a curse
In this eternal universe
So listen when the pine trees sigh
Their wisdom never passes by
They hold the secrets of the sky
And watch the centuries go by
