# My web3 journey **Published by:** [0xHelena](https://paragraph.com/@0xhelena/) **Published on:** 2022-03-26 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@0xhelena/my-web3-journey ## Content In 2020, Marcus Flischer (my lab manager at UC Davis) asked me if I wanted to learn python so we could test out ML algorithms on our imaging data of pancreatic cell behavior. We used the results from that project to enter a Type-1 Diabetes research competition and somehow, we won 1st place! This sparked my curiosity in neural networks, which lead me to take 3 extra CS courses in my final year as a bio major. Something magical happened for me that year, where I began to connect my areas of knowledge and mentally visualize the way ecosystems work. I developed a mental model of how humans build networks, identical to biological systems, giving birth to the next iteration of collective consciousness: AI, ML, and DAOs. Someday, I’ll return to the bio research space but more than likely, you’ll find me at the intersection of biotech and decentralized blockchain solutions. ## Publication Information - [0xHelena](https://paragraph.com/@0xhelena/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@0xhelena/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@0xhelena): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/0xhelena_eth): Follow on Twitter
