Vela Exchange is a perpetual trading DEX built with the goal of bringing CEX speed / tooling to the DEX space without sacrificing the benefits of on-chain trading.

We started as Dexpools in late 2021, and built a cool OTC platform to support retail P2P trading. Our platform launched in April of 2021 along with a small seed raise.

On our roadmap was to integrate additional DEX capabilities, and we decided to add perpetual trading right before summer of 2022 since we as traders found it really hard to move off of CEXs to trade perpetuals and derivatives on dApps.

Prior and current dApps just don't have the power and speed of centralized applications, and we thought it would be an interesting challenge to build something from the ground to improve every trader's experience.

Our team start with Travis and I meeting together at BCG, building some cool stuff together, and deciding to build in the defi space as a founding team. We met the rest of our team through fortunate circumstances, including RP from Balancer, Berke from Rome Blockchain Labs, and Anthony through various projects.

To give trader's the experience they expect from a professional trading application without sacrificing custody or transparency.

Build better experiences, market the hell out of the great things we do, and be as honest and transparent with the community as possible.

Open access for beta start on February 9th. It will be HUGE.
