# Base project RocketSwap shares emergency plan following $865K exploit

RocketSwap Labs plans on reaching out to the exploiter on-chain, who stole an estimated $865,000 from the protocol on Aug. 14.

On Aug. 14, a hacker stole approximately 471 ETH and bridged it from Base to Ethereum, [according](https://twitter.com/PeckShieldAlert/status/1691268504396374016) to blockchain security firm PeckShield.

The exploiter then created the 90 trillion “LoveRCKT” tokens and transferred them [over to Uniswap](https://cointelegraph.com/news/uniswap-v4-released-allowing-for-new-types-of-liquidity-pools) along with 400 ETH, it explained.

The news was [confirmed](https://twitter.com/RocketSwap_Labs/status/1691224815221583876) by RocketSwap Labs on Aug. 14 at 11:06 UTC, with PeckShield and fellow [blockchain security firm CertiK](https://cointelegraph.com/news/web3-startups-get-security-boost-as-certik-joins-cointelegraph-accelerator) providing additional details about the exploit a few hours later.

RocketSwap is a decentralized exchange on Base, with plans to gradually become community-owned through a decentralized autonomous organization.
