# Cardano Forest Briefing

**Project Introduction:**

Cardano Forest was presented by @CardanoStiftung (Cardano Foundation) at the Cardano Summit on 25 September 2021 to plant one million trees through the Cardano Impact Challenge and to start accepting planting donations. The target donation is to plant one million trees, of which 541,000 have been donated so far, reaching 54.1%. By donating different numbers of Ada to plant different numbers of tree tokens, combined with blockchain technology, each tree token is guaranteed to correspond to a future real-world tree to be displayed on the Cardano forest page in the future.

The project is **redeemable for a limited number of trees NFT** later. One Ada equals one tree token and one tree planted.There are nine donation tiers which grant you collectables and/or benefits. Starting at 15 Ada and going up to one million Ada. There is no limit on how many times you want to donate. Key Timelines:

September 25, 2021:Cardano Summit 2021. Planting Donations accepted.

**Q4 2021:** Establish a dedicated Cardano partnership network and community hub. Enhance the ITO website to provide updates on the Cardano Forest Initiatives. Early planting sites announced.

**Q1 2022**:Begin planting sessions. Incoming ground data reported to veritree for Cardano Forest. First round of NFT art claimed by Tree Token holders.

**Q2 2022**:Planting sessions continue, 1st round survivability reports submitted to veritree. Second round of NFT art claimed with incoming planting sessions.

**Q3 2022**:New planting site opportunities launched on veritree/Cardano. Planting sessions continue. Third round of NFT art released. 6-month Survivability reports submitted to Veritree.

**Q4 2022**:Final planting sessions of 2022 are submitted for veritree review. Final NFT art release of 2022.
