This is the second thread I'm posting from **succinct**, so please stay tuned.

In the previous thread, we briefly became acquainted with Succinct. In this thread, I would like to further introduce you to it so that you can understand the **network** you are dealing with."

**1.** The **Succinct Network** unveils proof contests, a creative all-pay auction system that enables provers to vie for generating **ZK** proofs with low cost and reduced latency. This fosters a robust, **decentralized** proving cluster with exceptional performance.

Do you know what **ZK** is?

"ZK" stands for "Zero-Knowledge," meaning "zero knowledge." This term refers to a cryptographic concept where one person (known as the "**prover**") can prove to another person (known as the "**verifier**") that something is true without revealing any additional information or the underlying detai

**example**

I want to send a token to **yinger**, but I don’t want anyone to see the details of my transactions, and my privacy is important to me.

![The ZK-Sync network has all its transactions public.](https://storage.googleapis.com/papyrus_images/3e703868e693317736ee6f17dc123b60cbb6f93c7b15eb846c68d25f920b0239.jpg)

The ZK-Sync network has all its transactions public.

The **Succinct** network, unlike all other **Layer 2** solutions where all **transactions** are **public** and visible to everyone, aims to change this approach.

**2.Here’s how the network works**

Users submit **RISC-V** programs with inputs and fees. Provers bid in a contest to win the right to generate proofs. The network settles on an application-specific blockchain, ensuring transparency and efficiency.

**Now, what does this mean?**

It means it’s a decentralized system that operates with specific programs and a competition among provers to process transactions transparently and efficiently.

**Why is this a big deal?**

Zero-knowledge proofs **(ZK proofs)** enable scalability, privacy, and verifiability across various industries:

Rollups and Layer 2s can verify transactions efficiently.

AI models can provide verifiable inference

Identity and authentication systems gain **cryptographic** security

**Proof contests promote decentralization and affordability:**

\-Provers compete by submitting bids, keeping proof costs low

\-Both individual home provers and large infrastructure teams can join freely without permission.

\-In contrast to traditional mining, there’s no wasteful or duplicate proof creation.

**3.** The network is developed in collaboration with SP1, a **zkVM** that supports efficient proof creation for **RISC-V** programs, leading to enhanced performance and consistency throughout the ecosystem.

**4.Main benefits** of the Succinct Network:

\-Open proving access Participation is available to everyone.

\-Clear cost structure Proof prices adapt dynamically.

\-Streamlined market design Aggregating supply and demand ensures ideal pricing.

**(FINAL sentence)**

The Succinct Network shares similarities with previous **cryptoeconomic** infrastructure projects like **Bitcoin**, **Filecoin**, and **Aleo**, but it emphasizes scalable proof generation instead of relying on Proof of Work or storage solutions.
