# Inequality, The Movie

I am still working on my third post about [employment](http://gawk.it/search?search_type=blogs&forum=continuations&sortby=&query=employment).  As part of that I have been reading up on the rise of inequality in the US and its effects on society.  In that process I came across this interesting chart from a Morgan Stanley research report:

It shows that rising income inequality has been highly correlated with increased political polarization since the mid 1970s (found [via Business Insider](http://www.businessinsider.com/chart-political-polarization-inequality-2012-11)).

Then just a few minutes ago I saw in my Tumblr dashboard that [Robert Reich](http://robertreich.org/) is making a documentary movie about inequality and is [raising money for it on Kickstarter](http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/39360185/inequality-for-all-0). I just [backed](https://twitter.com/albertwenger/status/269461243948064769) the movie because this topic needs all the attention it can get. The chart above shows why it presents not just an economic and moral challenge but also a political one that has in the past lead to violent social convulsions.
