Ethereum has always been committed to continuous technological innovation and upgrades. Initially using the Proof of Work (PoW) consensus mechanism, Ethereum faced scalability and energy consumption issues. As a result, it decided to transition to the more efficient Proof of Stake (PoS) mechanism. The launch of Ethereum 2.0 marked this significant change. PoS not only drastically reduced energy consumption but also increased the network’s processing capacity and security.
