In this essay, I will write what I understand about love, what I feel love is. This is not going to be around whether love right or not, this is not about the moral questions of love. This is going to be just about love.

Love, it’s beautiful. It is just what it is, why do we try to understand it, why do we try to feel it. Love is naive. Love is like an ocean. So deep and beautiful, it can be chaotic there will come moments where big storms are going on this ocean of love, and there will be times where it is so magnificent, you cannot imagine that this is what love is.

There’s is a big difference between marriage and love. Marriage is setting up a house with a spouse, to share the remaining of the life with that person, to raise kids with that person, to build a life with that person. Then what is love, why is love, how can we define love. We can go on a biological and neurological level and say that love is only chemicals interacting and mixing in the brain. Or we can go to some abstract level, and see what love is. One of the best analogies. I have read about love is comparing it to a beautiful flower, when you like a flower you pluck it and you want that flower to be with you, but when you really love a flower you want that flower to blossom, you want that flower to just be there, you want to touch its petals, and smell its scent. You want to see that flower blooming in the morning hour of sunshine, you want to see the dew droplets falling from its petals, you want to see how beautiful it looks in the moonlight. That’s love for me. When you love a person, we want to love an idea of that person, we expect that person to do things for us, we expect that that person loves us the way we love them. But everybody’s perception of love is just different. Loving someone is diving in the sea of love, it’s dangerous, and you don’t even know how to swim in this ocean of love. Both of you are in there, helping each other to stay afloat, to get wet in these beautiful waters of the ocean, and to bathe in this water under the moon. There will come storms, that’s when you hold on to each other so tight, even the forces of water cannot break you. What if one of you gets afraid of going more deeply in the ocean, that’s when everyone turns back and break-ups happen. It’s the naivety of love, real love that keeps two people going in the ocean, the adventure that exists, the adrenaline rushes and dopamine hits you get with that person, the uncertainty you face with that person. It’s unbelievable. Love can change your fears into courage, it can make you courageous, cause your drive to be with that one person with that one and only person becomes so much, the fears back down and all that’s left is to be with that person fully.

Love can be nonsensical, it can be sacrificial. It can be everything and at the same time, it can be nothing. You wait for that person, cause you just know that that person is never going to come back. People change during the course of life, their personality changes, their body changes, everything changes. But when love goes beyond this changes and stays constant. Love changes with these changes, that’s when we can say it is true love.

We think that we want to fall in love to get married to that person. But I feel like, that’s just not true. We just fall in love, we get in love, we grow in love. We see that person and find that so utterly beautiful.

In its true sense, I think life is meaningless. There’s not like one thing, one meaning to life. The beauty of that is we can make our life meaningful, Anything we do or don’t do is a risk. You have one life and that’s all you get. Some people may choose to be with many people until they find the one they are compatible with or someone they really really like. Everybody’s paths are gonna be different. For me, it’s the path of finding that one person, with whom I want to spend the rest of my life, to go on adventures, to take the responsibilities, to start a family, to share the life with. Who knows, if it’s the right path or the wrong path but this is the path I’m willing to choose in life.

Finding love. Do we find love? Or do we discover love? It’s a really difficult question to answer, while some may find love. Some may discover it.

I think the lovers who marry are the luckiest people alive, they can be naive in love and as well as pick up the responsibility of the family. To enjoy life as well as to grow in life. To experience life, as well as to build a life.

Find love, find someone, find something you can love. It is a risk. It is difficult, it is hard, but in the end, it’s the most beautiful thing in the world.
