# DOTXHORD Scam or Legit?

There are many websites that claim they are legit exchanges. Many of them like [Binance](https://binance.com), [Coinbase](https://coinbase.com), and [Kucoin](https://kucoin.com) are somewhat legit, but some of them are not. It is really important to research an exchange before diving in and deposit all your money to their addresses.

In this little article I am going to study one of these exchanges and try to find if it’s legit or a scam. This exchange is named [DOTXHORD](https://dotxhord.com).

I firstly saw the name of this exchange in a Discord private message. **An unknown person** just sent me a message that there is a giveaway and I am one of the winners. I had won 0.813 $BTC and it claimed that by just registering in the website I can withdraw it. Naturally in the first step I thought it’s a scam. **Who would give such amount of $BTC for free?**

But the amount was so tempting that I couldn’t resist going to the platform. So I registered in the platform and the only thing it wanted was an email and a password. I was careful and didn’t use my usual password. I got registered and logged in. In the next step, I followed the instruction and used my code to claim my $BTC. Surprisingly, I was given the 0.813 $BTC. It was at this point that I said to myself, “Don’t judge a book by its cover, it’s not a scam”. So a full rush of Adrenaline started in my body and I was so happy that I was lucky for once in my life and got such amount of $BTC for free.

After this, I thought to myself, “This still can be a scam, you haven’t withdraw anything yet”. Then, I went a bit more careful and thought to change all my $BTC to $ETH so I can easily withdraw it to a MetaMask wallet. So, I went on the exchange and changed my $BTC to $ETH. It was pretty easy and unlike what I was thinking there was **a big amount of liquidity** which was odd for such an unknown exchange.

Then I tried to withdraw my $ETH to my MetaMask wallet. I submitted my withdraw and after some minutes it showed failed and clicking on the “learn more” button gave me the message below.

The Withdrawal Failed Message Shown

That’s odd. **Why do I have to deposit anything to an exchange to verify it’s me?** Maybe it’s not me and i just want to withdraw to an OTC exchange. Or maybe I’d like to send this money to a friend. “SCAM Alert”.

So the amount wanted for a deposit was so high that at this point, I didn’t like the platform. I thought maybe it’s because I am trying to withdraw $ETH. So I went to the exchange and immediately changed my $ETH to $BNB. Then, I submitted another withdrawal request and guess what? The exact same message was shown again.

At this point, I was sure I am facing a scam project. But I didn’t stop and logged out trying to contact to the “24/7 support” they told. And of course, t**here was no “24/7 support”** for a person who is not a user of the website. Then, I went on web and searched the name and I found out that **the website is registered in 2022**. Also, there are **some other people that got this Discord message with exactly 0.813 $BTC** as the amount of prize. Isn’t it ODD???

### Conclusion

DOTXHORD is a **SCAM** for the reasons below:

*   High amount of giveaway

* You cannot withdraw until you deposit a big amount of money

* Big liquidity in the exchange, knowing that this platform is really unknown

*   No 24/7 support

* The website is registered only days ago in 2022

* Other people with exact same amount of prize
