Pre-Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) 2022, traversing metaverse platforms like Decentraland hadn’t been the norm for me. Sure, I play quite a bit of Blizzard’s Hearthstone and have messed around on the Roblox app from time to time. But that’s about it. There was an immense amount of hype leading up to MVFW, not only because it was the first one ever but also because big brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger and many more have taken an interest in this virtual space. This interest is backed by investment in one of the biggest revolutions in fashion and lifestyle.MVFW, which was hosted on Decentraland, was more like an experiment for these brands, to test the virtual waters of potential profitability in this online realm. A massive moment in fashion’s history, in my opinion. There were runway shows, afterparties, panel discussions and meetups. The vibe was incredible. The creativity, inclusivity and unpredictability of MVFW made it a once-in-a-lifetime experience.I’ll be honest with you again. My MetaMask account doesn’t hold much ETH. So, for me, a bit of window slash portal shopping at the pop-up stores was all that awaited me at the Fashion District. Here are a couple of the NFTs and digital garments I really, REALLY desired.SelfridgesI spent a little too much time in Selfridges’ meta store because, well, the digital garments housed there were so elegant and flamboyantly put together I couldn’t resist. The store had several levels with geometric walls and a twirly ramp connecting it all. Plus, I was greeted by a rather dapper-looking man in a fedora before entering.Tommy HilfigerThe classic varsity footballer jacket was on my list of must-haves. I’m a sucker for Hilfiger’s shirts too but to be honest, their virtual store was pretty meh. It was lost in all the bubblegum pop surrounding it.XR CoutureThese were the 3 looks that I needed to have in my meta closet from XR Couture. This blue rendition of Little Red Riding Hood’s cloak and stockings is something I could easily wear in the snow-covered hills of a mystical land. Mega Mage vibes here, which I love.An understated piece perhaps, but I appreciated the stitching and how it carried through to Decentraland’s graphic style. Stunning work of meshing the blue and purplish hues of thread together.I don’t know if this was a glitch but when I teleported up to the Givaa Dam dress, my avatar blacked out and suddenly, I was wearing the garment. Best glitch ever (if it was…).Giuseppe ZanottiBefore attending MVFW, I had no idea who Giuseppe Zanotti was before this (I know, in IRL, he is a big deal in luxury Italian footwear) but boy oh boy, the green bucket hat at jis exhibition had me all riled up. That says quite a bit since I’m not a huge fan of bucket hats.Outside the store, I bumped into a neon angel. Some serious streetwear LeMoineSalty#8e11 was rocking - I envied them... ## Publication Information - [astroporcelain](https://paragraph.com/@astroporcelain-2/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@astroporcelain-2/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@astroporcelain-2): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/astroporcelain): Follow on Twitter
