垄断资本主义之下产能会超过市场的需要，因而需要通过限制产量来保持价格，但是如果产量被限制会推高单位成本，从而进一步使利润下降。因此垄断资本的利润是难以自我维持的。the expansion of production facilities to a scale beyond what the market will support; the need to restrict output to keep up prices, conflicting with the simultaneous need to keep output high enough to utilize full capacity and keep unit costs down; the inability of the economy to absorb the full output of cartelized industry at monopoly prices.
