Still Right Here: Welcome to Autismhood Media

A welcome to new readers, a hello to old friends, and what is ahead for Autismhood Media

If you just signed up for Autismhood Media recently, welcome to the porch. And if you have been here since day one, I want to say thank you for sticking around. I am still right here, still taking care of my son Sheamus, and still writing about what it really takes to navigate this life.

Sometimes life gets busy, or weeks slip by while we are handling the daily routine in our apartment. But I wanted to send a note straight to your inbox to let you know that this space is active, growing, and not going anywhere.

Why Autismhood Media exists

Raising an adult child on the autism spectrum is not something the world prepares you for. When kids are little, there are school buses, IEP meetings, and counselors. Once they cross into adulthood, all of that drops off like a cliff. You are left standing there holding the keys, figuring out housing, daily routines, doctor appointments, and how to keep food on the table while protecting your child's peace.

I started Autismhood Media because I got tired of seeing sugarcoated stories or sterile medical pamphlets that do not match what real families experience. Out here in the real world, it is about keeping calm when meltdowns happen, cooking good meals to keep a routine, laughing through the quirks, and holding onto your sobriety and sanity through it all.

I share our wins, our hard days, and the hard-earned lessons from my own past running around Cleveland and sleeping in shelters. Everything I write here comes straight from our living room and our kitchen table.

What is coming up

Over the coming weeks, I will be dropping new essays and practical stories covering:

• The reality of adult services, transitions, and paperwork battles

• Morning routines, comfort cooking, and keeping unnecessary drama far away from the house

• How staying sober and grounded makes me a better advocate and caregiver for Sheamus

• Honest advice for other parents who feel isolated in this journey

How you can support our journey

Everything we do here is independent. There are no corporate grants or big sponsors behind this keyboard. It is just a father and his son, managing daily expenses, groceries, and essentials while sharing honest insight with the world.

If you appreciate having an authentic voice in this space, here is how you can help us keep moving forward:

1. Direct support on CashApp: If you want to drop a tip toward groceries, household supplies, or Sheamus's essentials, you can send it to $Jasonmac73. Every single bit helps us stay afloat and steady.

2. Share this publication: If you know another parent, caregiver, or someone who cares about real autism awareness, forward this email or share the link with them.

3. Stay subscribed: Make sure our emails are marked as safe in your inbox so you never miss an update.

Thank you for being here, for reading, and for standing with us. Take care of yourself today, protect your peace, and look out for one another.
