# berabound: introducing smoke & mirrors By [bakeland](https://paragraph.com/@bakeland) · 2024-10-23 --- **_ooga booga beras,_** **_bakeland is berabound_.** yet, odds are you probably don’t know much about what we’re building. nor what it means for the berachain ecosystem and y'all left-curve beeple. so let's back it up a bit, and unpack our thesis across a series of _brief_ articles. since most of you can’t read anyway. intro ----- > **_bakeland is a casual P2E metaRPG where players explore on-chain virtual worlds to earn rewards._**\* players bring their on-chain identities, their assets become playable characters and accessories, and hundreds play together in real time.\* > > _in the upcoming season - smoke & mirrors,_ **_bakeland puts the leading cults across crypto at war via on-chain stakes_**_. users across chains must adapt their strategies in order to maximize their stash of $BUDS._ > > _as the first on-chain game powered by real-time composability across multiple networks, it creates a unified, gamified interface for users to interact with dApps on berachain. this means players can tap into the PoL liquidity flywheel directly from other networks._ as we set out to highlight the most cult-like communities in this exciting, niche internet subculture we’re all part of - berachain was naturally the prime contender. we realized that this fake chain is not just highly suited to test our novel experiment in mechanism design _(read: ponzi)_, but unlocks novel liquidity flows - allowing users to directly tap into berachain’s liquidity flywheel from any supported network (more on this thoon). in line with this broader vision, the berabound campaign has **three distinct goals:** _a)_ **_create a simple, fun and unified interface to the berachain ecosystem_** b) **_assemble the lowest-IQ beras_** to activate our bonzi economy _c)_ **_simulate our value streams_** _and integration into the liquidity flywheel on berachain_ _the upcoming playtest on berachain bArtio will be aligned with these goals, and is focused on generating a robust feedback loop as we prepare for mainnet. this first article shall focus on educating the beras on some of the key in-game utilities which they can avail by minting our genesis collection._ **in-game assets: the smoke & mirrors collection** -------------------------------------------------- ![smoke & mirrors - minting thoon](https://storage.googleapis.com/papyrus_images/2ae55a2fce051b1ba5c061b613f9de4b7760edad8a18a3b8818afe1f51c94a46.png) smoke & mirrors - minting thoon the **berabound: smoke & mirrors** NFT collection consists of **1111 in-game assets** split between **421 farmers** and **690 narcs**. each having distinct utilities and upgradable tiers that unlock additional benefits - make them highly lucrative for anyone looking to maximize their stash of $BUDS. ### **farmers** * **delegate to boost farms**: delegating farmers to chosen farms provides an additional boost to yields - making them crucial to tilt the .\* * **three upgradable tiers**: each unlocking new levels of boosts and rewards. the higher the tier, the greater the competitive edge in resource accumulation. ### **narcs** * **boosts on raids**: holding narcs are your key to success in raiding farms across the multi-chain. they offer strategic boosts that increase the odds of successful raids, allowing you to outmaneuver your rival chain-maxis. * **three upgradable tiers**: narcs become increasingly powerful as you progress, with limited-time bonuses and customized raiding strategies. > _each farmer and narc will be deployed as a dynamic NFT upon berachain mainnet launch, allowing holders to track and showcase their progression as pioneers of bakeland. as new LTMs and minigames are introduced, holders will have the choice of modifying their visual traits and unlocking new utility traits for their NFTs._ in addition to the primary characters, the bakeland ecosystem will introduce two supplementary assets that offer single-use boosts for both farming and raiding: who can mint a.k.a ‘_the dank draft’_ ------------------------------------- recent developments in the bera eco have led us to formulate a unique approach to the whitelisting of users for our upcoming mint. there will be four phases in total: * **_diamond hands_** - 69 free mints for the lowest-iq beras in the ecosystem * **_guaranteed phase_** - 777 spots to secure from ecosystem partners (_scroll further down to check out the list_) * **_early access beras a.k.a playtestoors_** _\- stay tuned on twitter/discord with notifs on_ * **_ecosystem mint_** (fastest paws first) - a snapshot of partner NFT holders and berachain OG collection holders has been taken.
