# Base Frens 101

Base Frens is about friendship, we are 10,001 frens with commercial rights, dropping on [Farcaster](https://warpcast.com/basefrens) and Base.

Base Frens is a collection of 10,001 ERC-721 tokens on the Base Blockchain, each Fren is unique, programmatically generated from 10 attributes: **_Type, Clothes, Headband, Eyes, Facial Hair, Mask, Hat, Mouth & Extra_**. More about the attributes and rarity on another post.

Base Frens is the first NFT project sold via [**DEGEN Tips**](https://www.degen.tips/) on Farcaster, thats right we will do a presale only with Tips. In order to participate in the presale you have to tip us **1,000 $DEGEN** per token with a maximum of **20,000 DEGEN / 20 Tokens per wallet**.

We are well aware that not everybody on Farcaster is able to tip **1,000 $DEGEN** on a single tip, therefore we have created a dune panel which allow us to track all tips and at the end of the month we will compute all tips received and add all participants to a whitelist based on the total amount of tips sent.

Once the presale is over (either sold out of timed out) we will add all participant wallets into a white list and will share a link to the minting site, all participant of the presale will be able to claim based on the amount of tips sent:

The presale will be open 48 hours. Once the presale ends all unclaimed tokens will be moved to a public mint phase.

Base Frens doesn’t have a roadmap and won’t promise merch, games or a metaverse however since we are about friendship and community we will always prioritize our **FRENS** gathering in different locations around the world coinciding with **Farcaster / WEB3 / NFT** related events. In those reunions we will share our vibes, grab a drink, eat some tacos or pizza and spend time together.

Our community events will be funded via grants. Grants will allow Base Frens holders to receive USD/ETH for taking actions with their local communities, like hosting a meetup or a dinner.

*   Grants will be posted on our social media. Base Frens holders will be able to fill the application and apply for a grant.
    
*   Anyone holding a Base Fren token will be elegible to apply for a community grant during the nomination process.
