# dGEN1 Giveaway!

Base Frens was introduced [8 months ago](https://mirror.xyz/basefrens.eth/6S7CJJerzgmitQmPC7XI-TLjHJwr8XJQFr0YPmwNfNQ), the smart contract deployed [6 months ago](https://basescan.org/tx/0xf77ec2428cc337b6d7e209c6f1767289808045632342b4070973cd6788625622) and the collection sold out [3 months ago](https://warpcast.com/basefrens/0x75b84b12) (vachell.base.eth [minted the last one](https://basescan.org/tx/0x9c6662726a96106eb90c29b7c3647296263f2fabb838eb1cc568034c0c41f55e)). The last 12 months, since i started thinking about the collection, have been amazing, i met a lot friends, managed to build an [amazing community on Farcaster](https://warpcast.com/~/channel/basefrens), organized a couple events, attended ETH Denver, Farcon, ETH México and ArtBlocks Weekend where i have always spoken about Base Frens community and trying to onboard as many folks as possible into the project. During this time i have also been asked, a lot of times, about the “Utility“ on the collection and i have always been honest that there is no utility attached to the token other than the [community grants](https://basefrens.io/#about) and being part of an amazing community of frens who like Farcaster and Base.

Base Frens is about friendship and we love giving back to the community, that’s why we are giving away 2 dGEN1 tokens amongh our holders which will be redeemable for a phone in Spring 2025. Both tokens currently on our wallet.

**The mechanics on the giveaway are pretty simple!**

**The first token will be raffled among our holders, currently 1/3,913 chances to win.**  
On a date TBD on our [Farcaster Profile](https://warpcast.com/basefrens) we will take a snapshot of the wallets holding a BaseFren, each wallet will be assigned with an incremental number (1 -→ XXX) and via [random.org](https://www.random.org/), on a live stream, we will select 5 numbers, being the fifth one the lucky winner. Easy Peasy!

\*\*The second token will be raffled among our holders via a Farcaster Frame.\*\*Starting today and until **December 28th, 2024 - 18:45 -6 GMT** holders of a Base Fren token can claim raffle tickets using [frame linked\*](https://warpcast.com/basefrens/0x0b212b5a). For each BaseFren held, the wallet will get one ticket with no limit on the number of tickets. For example if the claiming wallet holds 44 Base Frens the wallet will get 44 tickets. Once the registry is closed we will add all tickets to a raffling system (probably wheel of names) and in a livestream we will pick 5 numbers, being the fifth one the lucky winner.

**It is important to mention that in order to participate in the raffle of the first token there is no need of interaction. We will take the snapshot, do the raffle and airdrop the token to winner’s wallet.  
  
For the second token ONLY HOLDERS THAT CLAIM A TICKET VIA THE FRAME WILL BE ELEGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RAFFLE.**  
  
Thanks to all our community members, holders and people who have believed in the collection, we are just starting and 2025 will be full of surprises. To start, we are getting ready to [Farcon NY](https://farcon.nyc/) where we will hold our first international IRL gathering!
