Welcome! Welcome to a place of good vibes, positivity, and SUPPORT.

While this may look like twitter, it is absolutely not. This is a place for builders and alpha where the better your vibes, the better you can do in many areas.

In this blog, I’ll give you a walk through the platform so you know where to start. I’ll try to be as thorough as possible so you have everything you need to get the ball rolling on your Warpcast journey and hopefully be successful.

**Before I get into the platform, please consider the following 10 guidelines for creating the best Warpcast experience possible:**

1\. Be consistent - Consistently positing and replying on this app will do wonders for visibility, recognizability, and building a brand.

2\. Be generous - What goes around comes around on this app. Be generous to people and those people will get you back.. that is the culture.

3\. Be supportive - _This is not toxic twitter_. We are here to support likeminded people in the industry and give them a place to thrive.

4\. Ask questions - You are new to this and may not know everything. People are supportive and want to point you in the right direction.

5\. Listen to experienced casters - There are people who have been doing this for a lot longer than you and have used the platform to make significant money and connections. Listen to what they have to say. They know how it’s done.

6\. REPLY - This is the very best way to build up a following. You want to add value, show support, and be seen by some of the bigger accounts on the app. This is great for building a following and benefitting monetarily.

7\. Focus on things you like - There’s a channel for everything, make sure you’re posting where you feel that you can contribute. This app willl never feel like a chore if you are where you want to be.

8\. Engage in frame and on chain - Part of the Web3 experience is to participate in native Web3 activities. Mint free NFTs, play in frame games, use betting applications within the app. This will help you get familiar with people and how Warpcast is driving UI/UX forward in the space.

9\. Add value - Don’t post just to post, do something to drive the community forward. Positivity and support is a form of adding value, but the more you can contribute to others in information, the more the app will reward you.

10 and most importantly…

_Have fun!_ - It’s not all serious, people joke around, talk about sports, movies, etc. Enjoy the good vibes.

**The platform**

A lot of the platform is intuitive as it looks and feels like Twitter. There is a reddit-esque component that makes it different. Below are different parts of the platform itself:

*   **Channels**

    * Use channels to get granular on the content that you’re posting. There is literally a channel for everything and you want your posts to reach its intended audience. As an example, I wouldn’t post a meme in a serious channel like [/base](https://warpcast.com/~/channel/base), I’d look for one of the meme channels like [/jokes](https://warpcast.com/~/channel/jokes) or [/memes](https://warpcast.com/~/channel/memes).

    * Get familiar with channels, each channel has their own lingo and own style. A channel like [/flounders](https://warpcast.com/~/channel/flounders) is for posting on-chain mineable flounders and they don’t like when you go away from that. Mimic the style of a channel and you’ll receive interaction.

    * You can browse the recent and trending on each channel, it is important to look at both.

    * Try not to post without posting to a channel as that will only get seen by your followers. Using channels is the best way to get seen by people who do not follow you.

    * You can buy/own channels with Warps

    * You can become a host of a channel like a moderator on Reddit

*   **Warps**

    * Warps are a native currency to Warpcast

    * Warps can be used to tip / gift others on the platform, but mostly Warps can be used to buy channels (ex. I bought the /Sopranos channel for 2500 Warps)

*   **Features**

    * Just like Twitter, you receive notifications, can DM other users (some restrictions may apply if they don’t follow you), explore, bookmark posts, and edit your profile.

    * If you invite users, you receive 50 warps. This may have advantages down the road if you bring on power users

*   **Powerbadge**

    * A power badge signifies that you are a power user on the platform (similar to a verification on Twitter).

    * It does not represent a certain amount of followers, but rather that you generate good interaction on the platform.

    * To get a Powerbadge, provide good content, reply often, and stay relevant in channels.

*   **Connect your wallet!**

    * Make sure that you go to settings and add a verified address so you can get credit for your on chain activities! This is important for potential air drops.

**$DEGEN** - $DEGEN is tipping culture. See this thread below about $DEGEN, how to use it, and best practices:

**Other Apps on Farcaster**

Farcaster is an incredible ecosystem with more to offer besides Warpcast. Please see this link to see all the other amazing clients you can use: [https://github.com/a16z/awesome-farcaster](https://github.com/a16z/awesome-farcaster)

Not included are:

*   [Drakula](https://drakula.app/) - Farcaster Videos

*   [Unlonely](https://www.unlonely.app/) - Farcaster Streaming

I’m sure there are more too and I can edit this moving forward with anything I left off.

I hope this helps anyone trying to get started on Warpcast. I am always available for guidance and would love to help prop up real users in the space.

Happy building!
