# Strange Magic

**The Meeting:**

**It was a cold Monday morning on the 7th of January 2019. Just got admission into the prestigious Unibadan. An 18-year-old boy with nothing but a measly android phone, 3 t-shirts, 2 jean trousers, and a croc slippers. Staying in a self-contained room with nine other guys. Yes, 9!**

**Headed to school, it was orientation day for freshers of the faculty and we all got seated inside the faculty lecture theatre, ushers were handing out pamphlets and directing the students and excos. And there it was; a purple puma Fenty sneakers which reminded me of Rihanna whom I had a crush on. I tapped the wearer and said “I love your shoes'', she looked at me with the most blushing smile ever saying “Thank you”.** 

**In my head were the thoughts “God I want this girl”. I was hooked but composed as it was a large gathering, kept stealing glances, and I was sure she did. The Chemistry was insane, the moments were “_wattpadish_”. I had goosebumps all over my body, I had found something I had no idea I was searching for.**

I had to know more about her. Luckily for me, our paths would cross the next day, and probably did most of the Tuesdays till the semester ends. Walked past her by the faculty restaurant, wearing a flowery short but flay gown. Staring into each other, not a single word was said but we were flirting.  Seeing her chatting up a friend and coursemate of mine who was a mutual friend was my chance to get to know her better.  Walked up saying something funny, and we both chuckled and introduced ourselves, her name was LYDIA. 

Knowing her name was enough for me at the moment. I would chuckle randomly and if I was asked “why” or “wassup”, I would reply “Lydia”. Saw her next 3 days later, sitting in the front of the dept with her coursemates: hair all weaved down, wearing a cardigan-like t-shirt, blue jeans, and a croc also. Crept up next to her and sat, we spoke for a long time getting to know each other more. She's a Man Utd fan, loves Ronaldo for his looks, spoke about our shared love for Ed Sheeran, and listens to Taylor Swift and BurnaBoy majorly. I held back talking about myself cause well she didn’t ask and I never do.
