One of the things I love about Spain is the socialising part on the terrace or in a small bar. Something you'll hear often is  “Una caña”.

“Una caña" is Spanish for "one cane" or "one beer." In Spain, a small beer is commonly referred to as a "caña." It is a small glass of beer, usually around 5-7 ounces, and is a popular choice for a casual drink with friends or as an accompaniment to a meal. The word "caña" is also used to order a small beer in a bar or restaurant.

Drinking a small beer, or "una caña," is a popular tradition in Spain and is often seen as a way to socialize and enjoy a casual drink with friends or as an accompaniment to a meal. The Spanish culture places a strong emphasis on socializing and spending time with friends and family, and having a drink together is often seen as an important part of that. Additionally, Spain has a long history of brewing and consuming beer, which has contributed to its popularity as a drink of choice.

Also, Spanish drinking culture is different from other countries, for instance, in Spain people tend to drink less but more frequently, and it's very common to go out for a drink after work, or during lunch, or even in the morning with friends.

Another factor that contributes to the popularity of "una caña" is the price, it's cheap and affordable, Spanish people can enjoy a beer without having to spend a lot of money. So cheers and enjoy your Cana :)
