LayerZero has partnered with Polyhedra Network to integrate zkLightClient, creating a cross-chain communication platform using Zero-Knowledge-Proof

Improved cross-chain interoperability using zero-knowledge proof (ZKP).

LayerZero is a full-chain interoperable protocol that supports cross-chain messaging. Applications developed using blockchain technology (decentralized applications) can seamlessly connect to over 30 supported blockchains through the LayerZero protocol, enabling dApp users to securely and efficiently interact with cross-chain assets.

Polyhedra Network is building the next-generation infrastructure for Web3 interoperability by leveraging advanced Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) technology. The Polyhedra Network team designed and developed the Polyhedra zkLightClient technology based on the LayerZero protocol, a cutting-edge solution that provides a secure and efficient cross-chain infrastructure for the interoperability of Layer-1 and Layer-2 blockchain networks.

Integrate Polyhedra zkLightClient technology into LayerZero

Polyhedra's zkLightClient technology seamlessly integrates into LayerZero's messaging protocol, enabling application developers to leverage zero-knowledge-proof technology effortlessly. With the extensive developer tools and community support provided by LayerZero, developers can quickly build cross-chain applications using zkLightClient on top of the LayerZero platform.

Illustration: Integrating Polyhedra zkLightClient technology into LayerZero

The validation library of LayerZero's ULNv2 relies on two components, namely Oracle and Relayer, to facilitate information exchange between endpoints in the chain. When LayerZero transmits information from chain A to chain B, the data is routed through endpoints on chain A and validated by the ULNv2 library. The ULNv2 library then notifies both Oracle and Relayer of the information and its destination chain. Oracle subsequently forwards the packet's hash value to an endpoint on chain B, while Relayer submits the packet for hash verification on that same chain before transmitting it.

On-chain zkLightClients enable the sending chain's validators to demonstrate to the receiving chain the current state of their own chain. zkLightClient adds stronger security to the LayerZero messaging protocol by combining it with other libraries. Due to the large number of transaction logs (necessary for proof, but not for the application itself), on-chain transaction verification is prohibitively expensive, possibly as much as $50 million to $100 million per day for each pair of chains connected to Ethereum.

The zkLightClient technology developed by Polyhedra Network, based on LayerZero, leverages the compression capabilities of ZKP to significantly reduce validation latency and costs through an efficient ZKP protocol. Moreover, multiple transaction validations can be batched into one zero-knowledge-proof for further cost reduction.

Reinforce cross-chain interoperation with zero-knowledge proof

The collaboration of zero-knowledge-proof technology between LayerZero and Polyhedra Network has elevated LayerZero to ZK LayerZero, the world's first zkLightClient with zero-knowledge-proof capabilities for cross-chain messaging and oracle services. The goal is to establish a secure, efficient, cost-effective, and interoperable ecosystem for blockchain through the implementation of zero-knowledge- proof.

In the future, LayerZero and Polyhedra Network will extensively collaborate in applying zero-knowledge-proof technology to cross-chain interoperability. By utilizing zero-knowledge-proof, we can enhance the security and performance of cross-chain operations while reducing costs, thereby unlocking the full potential of blockchain and Web3 interoperability. This partnership will have a profound impact on both parties' ability to achieve seamless interconnectivity.\]([https://images.mirror-media.xyz/publication-images/cSudKrh8ezhuneDwCq6hg.png?height=1280&width=936](https://images.mirror-media.xyz/publication-images/cSudKrh8ezhuneDwCq6hg.png?height=1280&width=936))
