What is Blockmento?
-------------------

Blockmento allows anyone to **create, collect and send digital mementos as non-transferable NFTs** to commemorate moments in life.

Blockmento is basically a “proof-of-moment” protocol that can be used to record that someone has been part of something at a particular moment in time.

It’s a digital memento that carries a sentimental value for the owner at a particular moment in time — something you can’t put a price on.

Non-transferable moment
-----------------------

Vitalik Buterin wrote an article about “[Soulbound](https://vitalik.ca/general/2022/01/26/soulbound.html)” tokens early this year which describes soulbound tokens as non-transferable NFTs that can be used to represent one’s identity and the unexplored opportunities they can unlock beyond finance.

While normal, transferable NFT has its use cases, it can be bought as a symbol of wealth. However, since non-transferable NFT can’t be traded, its use cases are more towards real-world usage and applications.

The key characteristic of Blockmento is that it’s not transferable, hence not tradable and has no monetary value.

Blockmento as a non-transferable NFT makes perfect sense since it’s used to prove that someone was part of something at a particular moment in time. This moment should always be “bounded” to the owner and in this context, the wallet that owns it.

Memories for generations to come
--------------------------------

Memories fade and connections were lost as generations pass.

Our vision is to **bring people from different generations closer through blockchain and decentralized technology**.

The Blockmentos you collected is the representation of your “life wealth” and not your “financial wealth”. They form memories that tell unique stories about your life for future generations.
