# Important Update: Request Rate Changes for BlockPI Services

To maintain the high quality of our services and prevent abuse, we are implementing some updates to the BlockPI request rate limits. We believe that these updates will contribute to an improved experience for all our users while ensuring the continued reliability and performance of our platform.

### **Request Rate Limit**

In our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible service, we are implementing the following request rate limits for our different packages. **Please note the rate limit will be effective on a single endpoint.**

### **Public RPC services:**

Request per Second (RPS) limit: 10RU per second (RUPS) limit: 200

### **Private free package:**

RPS limit: 20RUPS limit: 400

### **Elementary package:**

RPS limit: 1000RUPS limit: 40000

### **Pay As You Go:**

RPS limit: 1000RUPS limit: 40000(Make sure you have sufficient wallet balance.)

### **Premium package:**

RPS limit: 2500RUPS limit: 100000

The above adjustment is expected effective on **January 25, 2024.**

### **How it works?**

The request rate is based on the highest level package in your account. Here are scenarios to help you understand:

**_Scenario 1:_**

_If you have a premium package in your account, your rate will be 2500RPS and 100000 RUPS, even you are consuming the monthly free package._

**_Scenario 2:_**

_You are using the monthly free package but have made deposit and set your Auto-Scaling to Pay As You Go. Your rate limit will be 1000 RPS and 40000 RUPS. (_[_Click here to know how to set Auto-Scaling_](https://docs.blockpi.io/guides-for-web-3.0-users/how-to-use-blockpi/set-auto-scaling)_)_

**_Scenario 3:_**

_You are using the monthly free package and set your Auto-Scaling to Pay As You Go or any paid package, but your wallet balance is zero. Your rate limit will be 20RPS and 400RUPS._

Although we set aside redundancy for RUPS, if you’re using heavy method, you might hit the RUPS limit before RPS. If that happens, please upgrade your package or lower your frequency of the heavy methods.
