### **Between Space and Time**

This week, **MidJourney** released v5.2 and it is time to zooooom out. Users can now add subsequent prompts to zoom out on created pieces. Similar to Dall-E’s Outpaint feature, MidJourney uses the context of the current image to build out what the surrounding area could look like. Check it out below.

The process is a little different from Dall-E. After upscaling your selected variant, simply click “Zoom out x1” or “Zoom out x2”. Try it out!!

### **Aesthetics of the week**

Heading back into the world of helmet art, I follow a couple of designer accounts on IG. The below is from **Michaelcochranedesign.** One day, I will be definitely be making my own.

    * Launched on Optimism - Zora is now able to facilitate collections on a L2 minimizing the impact of gas fees to come.

### **Gentei Kaijou**

Tidal Wave has produced records for US and UK Hip Hop artists. Listening to the two varieties, I have often asked myself how the differences have impacted each. The same goes for the moments I spend listening to Japanese Hip Hop. Often, I find that international Hip Hop just seems to have a deeper appreciation of the art. Tidal Wave is here to share his thoughts on that.

**“UK vs. US Hip Hop” - Tidal Wave**

“Working with UK MCs:

1. Unique Style: UK MCs often have a distinct style influenced by various genres, including grime, UK garage, and drill. Their flows, cadences, and lyricism can differ from their American counterparts, giving their music a unique flavor.

2. Multicultural Influences: The UK has a diverse population, which influences the music produced by its artists. UK MCs often incorporate elements of their cultural backgrounds into their music, resulting in a rich and diverse sound.

3. Regional Accents: UK MCs often rap with their regional accents, which can add character and authenticity to their music. This regional diversity can be exciting for producers looking to explore new sonic landscapes.

4. Collaborative Spirit: UK MCs are known for their collaborative mindset, frequently working with other artists and producers. This openness to collaboration can lead to dynamic creative exchanges and innovative productions.

Working with US MCs:

1. Wide Range of Styles: The United States has a long history of hip-hop and a vast array of regional styles, from East Coast boom bap to West Coast G-funk, Southern trap, and more. Working with US MCs means navigating through this rich tapestry of sounds and styles.

2. Industry Infrastructure: The US hip-hop industry is well-established, with major record labels, media outlets, and a significant market presence. This infrastructure can offer more opportunities for exposure and commercial success.

3. Influence and Global Reach: American hip-hop has had a profound impact on the global music landscape. Collaborating with US MCs can provide access to a wider audience and opportunities for international recognition.

4. Entrepreneurial Mindset: Many US MCs possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit, actively engaging in branding, marketing, and business ventures. This mindset can lead to exciting collaborations beyond just music production.”

### **Chaotic Vibrations**

Heading back to the UK for a couple of tracks. 2023 has been kinda quiet for hip hop of my liking so I’ve decided to check back in on my UK bruvs after J Hus’ recently release with Drake. I included Dave as well whose album I revisted this week after first hearing it in 2020.

Enjoy!

Until next time, keep on seeking balance!
