The Parthenon in Athens is one of the most famous examples of classical architecture. This ancient Greek temple, dedicated to the goddess Athena, epitomizes the principles of classical design with its use of the Doric order, harmonious proportions, and intricate sculptural details.  Roman architecture built upon Greek principles, introducing innovations such as the arch, vault, and dome. The Pantheon in Rome, with its massive dome and oculus, demonstrates the Roman mastery of concrete construction and spatial design. Its portico, supported by Corinthian columns, reflects the continued use of classical orders in Roman architecture.  During the Renaissance, classical architecture experienced a revival as architects like Andrea Palladio drew inspiration from ancient ruins. Palladio’s villas and churches, characterized by their symmetry, colonnades, and pediments, set the standard for neoclassical architecture.
