Video: Bread Coop Community Call with Updraft
=============================================

Our most recent community call featured [Updraft](https://app.updraft.fund/) and founder Adam Stallard, where he presented a way we can fund democratic ideas without grant committees. The Bread Coop Cafe Discord channel is home to many insightful presentations, and this one got into many aspects of how a lot of our frustrations in crypto can be improved. Community Calls happen almost every week on Wednesdays, keep an eye out for the next one.

Josh wrote an article for Platform Cooperativism Consortium about the advantages of crypto that are often thrown out by the left because of how the tech/industry is perceived. It's a shared frustration for many in our space, and this is a helpful article to share with leftist friends who have dismissed crypto because of only having seen our worst actors.

Stefano Tortorici and R. Trebor Scholz make a compelling case in Jacobin for why cooperatives need to stop pretending they're apolitical. The piece argues that without co-ops actively aligning with unions and social movements, Big Tech wins by default. It asks hard questions about what it actually takes to build counterpower in the AI era, and doesn't let the cooperative movement off the hook.
