# Start with Why (web3)| #11

**Yes, this space is fascinating. New possibilities are emerging everywhere. People seem to be throwing money around like Fall leaves.**

However, this level of hype creates illusions that web3 can solve all sorts of problems. 

But the truth is that web3 has it’s own very obvious drawbacks that include: 

*   Scalable Distribution
    
*   Targeted Discoverability
    
*   Getting all your NFTs stolen by accidentally signing a malicious contract.
    

So, before we start a new project in web3 we start with the question: 

“Why web3?”

**Before getting started make sure the benefits of web3 align with the job that your project is looking to get done.**
