I can’t do justice to the injustice of how John Fisher did all of the A’s fans, who stuck by the team through so many seasons of pathetically underfunded baseball. There’s literally a famous book and movie about how hard it was to succeed with these cheap-ass owners.

Here are just a few of the many fans and experts who’ve said it better than I could, as we all witnessed the A’s play their final home game at the Oakland Coliseum this week:

It started with a simple meme about Cal’s win over Auburn:

That tweet generated over 5 million views and 4K+ retweets. All of a sudden, Cal fans–who used to have a passable sense of humor–started finding their rhythm in the emerald mines of modern Twitter.

From there, Berkeley’s digital antifa took over with _all_ the memes:

Though the Golden Bears and my Trojans are now separated by conference distance, it is good to see our comrades in Berkeley have found their sense of humor.
