# The opportunity in revisiting the "Google Graveyard" of crypto > Why the next wave of breakout crypto apps may come from ideas buried in past cycles **Published by:** [Capsules](https://paragraph.com/@capsules/) **Published on:** 2025-11-08 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@capsules/the-opportunity-in-revisiting-the-google-graveyard-of-crypto ## Content There's been thousands of experiments in crypto over the course of cycles. It's time to start going through the archives. There were many great ideas that were simply too early for their time. The infra was not ready yet. There are more Augur -> Polymarkets out there. Chains like Monad are now positioned to usher in the next era of great apps and serve as the experimentation grounds of the some of the best ideas from last cycles that are due for a re-visit. I've put together a quick diagram to highlight a few interesting projects that didn't make it but were perhaps a few iterations away from a much bigger outcome. What are you waiting for? The alpha is in studying the history of how we got to where we are today. Some of the most important primitives and 0-1 ideas are out there, waiting to be re-visited. I anticipate over the next few years, some of the best founders and breakout teams, will have been inspired by projects from crypto's deep history that were simply too early but laid the foundation. DM if you'd like to jam on putting together a more comprehensive list or are exploring cooking up something new in the space! Any favorite legacy projects I missed?
