# Breaking Down Octant's Epoch 7

In the absence of of a climate solutions round over the last two Gitcoin Grants iterations, Octant really stepped up to fill the funding void, with the help of Climate Coordination Network. All in all, more than US$500,000 was allocated to 20 projects. It's the kind of funding that makes a material difference. As we like to do for climate solutions rounds, we conducted an analysis to better understand the projects involved, any donor preferences, and relevant trends. This time, we handed the baton to Trinity Morphy. Here's one of the many interesting tidbits he uncovered. This one regards donor preference for Web3 vs. non-Web3 projects:This round included a notable number of non-Web3-native projects, which initially led me to expect a funding bias in favour of Web3-native initiatives. However, the data suggests otherwise. Non-Web3-native projects received more funding on average—$29,255.18 from 114 donors—compared to Web3-native projects, which averaged $24,955.51 from 111 donors.
