### Bismuth Mainnet Difficulty

The Bismuth Mainnet is **Proof-of-Work** based. A custom sha-224 algorithm is being utilized and optimized for GPU mining. Block time generation is 1-minute.

Current Hypernodes ROI is 23.6%, up from 21.4% in August. We count 183 active Hypernodes with a total amount of active collateral of 5,340,000 BIS. That’s a decrease of 21 active nodes since the last report.

### Amount of Hypernodes

The plot below shows all Hypernodes, both active and inactive, during the last 60 days. As can be seen from the plot, the number of Hypernodes is currently at 332, down by 1 node since the last report.

### Total Hypernode Collateral Value Locked (TVL)

The plot below shows the total Hypernode collateral, both active and inactive, during the last 60 days. As can be seen, the total amount of collateral is 9,270,000 during this period. The total amount of BIS in circulation is 32,85 million. Hence, the amount of active collateral accounts for 16.3 % of the total supply, or 28.2 % if the amount of inactive collateral is included.
