# Weekly Report | Aug 12th — 18th, 2024 **Published by:** [CESS_Network](https://paragraph.com/@cess-network/) **Published on:** 2024-09-07 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@cess-network/weekly-report-aug-12th-18th-2024 ## Content Weekly HighlightsA new feature was added to the CESS Network to reduce storage space declarations, preventing the issue of nodes being frozen due to accidentally declaring more storage space than their pledged amount.Improvements were made to the p2p file transfer mechanism, and issues, where storage nodes could not increase their pledge when the signing account differed from the pledge account, were fixed.A bug was fixed that prevented DeOSS from uploading files correctly due to improper usage of the node selection module.CESS participated in the “AMA: CollabFest 3.0” emphasizing our role in advancing data privacy and security in the Web3 ecosystem.Project Development DetailsThe CESS testnet has been updated to Venus (v0.7.7) and consists of a consensus node and a storage node. Consensus Node maintains the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serves as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage Node provides verifiable storage space and serves as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.Consensus Node [v0.7.7]Added a feature to reduce space declarations to prevent storage nodes from being frozen due to large space declarations.Fixed an issue where the blockchain state could not synchronize quickly after changing the validator set.Introduced distributed deployment of the TEE Node DCAP remote authentication server for more stable and reliable authentication services.2. Storage Node [v0.7.11]Upgraded the p2p file transfer mechanism to provide more efficient data transfer services.Fixed an issue where storage nodes could not increase their pledge when the signing account differed from the pledge account.CESS is a blockchain powered decentralized storage and CD²N (content decentralized delivery network) infrastructure for Web3. By utilizing a DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure network) model, CESS drives mass deployment of network nodes globally through incentives. The first of its kind, DeOSS (decentralized object storage services) by CESS has significantly contributed to the gradual enrichment and flourishing of the product ecosystem within the CESS network, DeShare (online file sharing tool), and public chain snapshot storage services have been incubated. The developments for this month are as follows: Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)Fixed a bug preventing DeOSS from uploading files correctly due to improper node selection module usage.Updated DeOSS documentation to reflect the latest features after version updates.Completed the upgrade and documentation of the Rust SDK, adapting it to CESS Venus (v0.7.7).Online File Sharing Tool (DeShare):Upgraded DeShare to address issues with file uploads and downloads.CESS Website (cess.network):Enhanced the presentation details of the website pages and updated all referenced links.Completed testing for the CESS Merkle event, which is about to be launched.TestnetOverview:18 days after the Venus (v0.7.7) testnet was launched. If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.21 consensus nodes4,988 storage nodes6.74 PiB verified storage space38.5 PiB total storage spaceEvent: The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. The ongoing miner reward event in the CESS testnet incentivizes participation from storage and consensus miners, allowing them to earn points while contributing to the network’s growth and development.Community ActivitiesCESS took part in the “AMA: CollabFest 3.0 — Making Changes Together 3”, where Nicholas Zaldastani, Co-Founder and Chairman of CESS, introduced the platform’s innovative technologies. During the discussion, CESS highlighted its decentralized cloud storage network, CD²N, and how these solutions are driving advancements in data privacy, security, and decentralized infrastructure. The event underscored the importance of these technologies in the future of Web3 and decentralized ecosystems.Join usCESS website | Twitter | Telegram | Discord | Github | Medium | LinkedIn | Instagram | YouTube | Facebook ## Publication Information - [CESS_Network](https://paragraph.com/@cess-network/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@cess-network/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@cess-network): Subscribe to updates
