# Is It Cool? #003 - MEMELAND.

Howdy, to all the trolls and memers. Today we are going to do a dive into the upcoming MEMELAND collection.

### Introduction

*   [MEMELAND](https://www.memeland.com/) is an NFT collection of 9,999 “Captians“. On top of this, captains will also serve as pieces that yield the mighty $MEME token.
    
*   Here is what the MEMELAND NFTs get you:
    
    *   → Private club membership
        
    *   → Creator NFT marketplace
        
    *   → IRL Events
        
    *   → Access to upcoming 9GAG drops
        
    *   → Access to upcoming 9GAG projects

*   Memeland seems to want to be a creator-centric NFT drop as their aim is to “change the future of memes and content creation.” As we all know the world runs on memes so I see this doing really well.
    
*   Memeland is also a child project of [9GAG](https://9gag.com/) which is arguably one of the biggest meme accounts and platforms.
    

### Traction / Art

*   9GAG is already famous with 16 million followers on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/9GAG) already.
    
*   The MEMELAND [Twitter](https://twitter.com/memeland) also has ~200kfollowers.
    
*   Just from this traction so far I’m getting a vibe that these “Captians“ will do very well.

*   MEMELAND is founded by the one and only [9gagceo](https://twitter.com/9gagceo).

### Future Landscape

*   After mint, they will begin expanding their core team, start work on their ecosystem involving $MEME, and work towards their mission of revamping the memer-economy.
    
*   Lastly, $MEME will be able to be earned directly after mint out as well.
    

### Use of funds

*   MEMELAND will be minting a 9,999 piece collection, the price is not declared just yet. Their secondary market will have a 6.9% fee and all proceeds will go towards “buy(ing) lambos, yachts, and private jets for the team...“ (jkjk).
    
*   As previously said the funds will be used to “hire more full-time team members, fund operations, and deliver even more value to our community!“.
    

### Criticism

*   In closing, I am a big fan of the project as I love memes. I am however wary of the lack of information about the mint, but with such a high-tier team I am sure it will all be fine.
