# What's in a channel? > vibes, structure, and cross-channel connection **Published by:** [The Cheshire Cat](https://paragraph.com/@cheshirecat/) **Published on:** 2024-04-04 **Categories:** farcon **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@cheshirecat/whats-in-a-channel ## Content There was a time when we resisted the order channels would bring to Farcaster. Our benevolent dictator pushed ahead and forced our hand with the AlgoCore. Now channels flourish, but most die undiscovered while very big channels get flooded with low quality or outright spam as casters seek reach to the masses. Channel hosts across the ecosystem experiment with creating the right mix of moderation, gamification, and laissez-faire to create the sub-communities they envisioned. This talk will consolidate insights on what happens inside channels and how it forms communities. Expect data (and network pictures!) At the end, we are all hopefully a bit wiser on how to use channels when we cast, and how to moderate channels to grow our sub-communities and the ecosystem. ## Publication Information - [The Cheshire Cat](https://paragraph.com/@cheshirecat/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@cheshirecat/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@cheshirecat): Subscribe to updates ## Optional - [Collect as NFT](https://paragraph.com/@cheshirecat/whats-in-a-channel): Support the author by collecting this post - [View Collectors](https://paragraph.com/@cheshirecat/whats-in-a-channel/collectors): See who has collected this post
