Inhabited by a population the size of its network participants, built on substratum of data interfaces, blockchains and silicone circuits. A city in The Cloud, the internet reflected back into metafiction, an open ledger of mythologies, where the dream lines between synapse and symbol are blurred within a fluid of object interpreters, all cultures of the earth collide in a perceptual implosion of computer interfaces, data models and digital art. Cloud City rejects no creed, invites all languages, and welcomes any inhabitants who come in peace. This is not your child safe Metaverse, this is the burning jungle of human imagination, the frenetic pulse of the overheating GPUs, the rhythmic throbbing of a fresh bassline, an unfiltered interface to the substratum of network protocols. Story ----- Cloud City is the embodiment of collective imagination space of the literal [Resource Network](https://resource.finance) participants and its peripheral cultural context. An Arcology is a self-sustainable city which requires no imports or exports to survive, which is a representation of a closed loop economy, as defined by the function of Resource Network. In relation to external economies, Cloud City is a port in the sky for transferring resources between local economies. It exists as a figurative representation of the metastructure of the Resource Network and its connection to the Earth, the internet, and the wider Metaverse. Cloud City represents what Resource Network is: literally a city in the clouds, where global village individuals and businesses interface over decentralized protocols to co-create mutual credit systems. The story of Cloud City is a means of assisting Network Participants in understanding how the mutual credit system works and developing tools to engage in self-governance via blockchain consensus protocols. Every object in Cloud City has a precise address on the Cloud City map using polar coordinates. This polar form of mapping addresses ensures both scarcity for city block holders, and unlimited forms of divisibility which takes on specific modular forms within the block structures. Spherical / polar coordinates are what Buckminster Fuller called "Nature's Coordinate System", since straight lines appear nowhere in nature, yet circles and spheres appear everywhere. This is the same addressing system used to map Burning Man's Black Rock City. The general definition of an Arcology is a city which is self-contained and encapsulated by a meta-structure. The city needs to be able to generate all of its own food, and resources to sustain all of its inhabitants, which includes all oxygen generated by plants and carbon extractors, as well as all food and manufacturing resources, mainly carbon, which is repurposed into many forms. Cloud City is a figurative representation of what Resource Network is in real life. Its purpose is to visualize the meta-structure that is Resource Network and can be used to implicitly convey Resource Network brand ethos and market participants. In purpose, Cloud City is an interface for visualizing the in and out flow of resources from Resource Network. For instance, when a large order of Cacao is imported into Resource Network, it is visualized in ports with many shipping containers showing the contents of Cacao. Newly imported companies and materials can be advertised inside the Cloud City meta structure. Available resources can be tagged on shipping containers located in the industrial ports. World ----- Cloud City is a literal city scale model of a 4.5 km diameter Arcology which floats in the sky, using an anti-gravitic drive to remain suspended, and heat differential inside the dome to reduce its own structural weight. At times, Cloud city can also land on the surface of the ocean when anti-gravitic devices are in need of maintenance, or for an extended stopover when flying past Hawaii. Using Cesium and Unreal Engine, the Cloud City simulation can import real-world city geometry, so it could visit and hover above different cities such as New York, to show its real-world scale and go on a journey around the world, visiting a new city each week or month. Buckminster Fuller developed the concept of Cloud Nine and corresponding physics and that using large enough domes, cities of the future could be literally suspended high in the sky by merely heating the air inside the dome structure. The temperature differential alone would allow even massive metal structures with thousands of inhabitants to remain floating in the atmosphere indefinitely so long as interior temperature was maintained, like a massive hot air balloon. Cloud City also lends inspiration from Jacque Fresco and Roxanne Meadows's Venus Project, which has a vast amount of supporting material to dive into how to build cities based on what Fresco called Resource Based Economies. Carbon Sequestration -------------------- Cloud City sequesters carbon-dioxide molecules from the atmosphere, breaking them down using Carbon Extractors into Carbon and Oxygen atoms. The Carbon atoms are repurposed into carbon fiber blocks of various modular forms and densities for constructing the city out of carbon modules. The derived Oxygen atoms are used to enhance the atmosphere and make ample oxygen available for all Cloud City inhabitants even when suspended multiple miles above the ground. NFT holders who hold Carbon Extraction plants hold an asset which not only enables them to have virtually unlimited volume of carbon to build metastructures in the future of Cloud City, it also gives them assets to sell and export to players inside the world. Owners of the Carbon Extractors receive a regular airdrop schedule of carbon blocks which can be used to construct or sell to other participants. Carbon fiber is 5x stronger than steel and twice as stiff, equipping Cloud City with a robust and lightweight structure. In addition to having superior strength to steel, carbon fiber is 5x lighter, offering a combined 25x increase in strength to weight ratio over traditional steel craft construction materials. The entire structure of Cloud City and most of its internal modules are built of carbon fiber-based structures for superior strength and robustness. NFT Artist Participation ------------------------ Inspired by the work of visionary architects and artists, Cloud City serves to bring evolutionary concepts into the NFT / Metaverse space with interoperable online frameworks. Cloud City Keys & Tickets are used to develop partnerships with crypto artists which support in marketing the overall Resource Network and making the social media story a compelling story to follow. Cycles of reciprocity are generated by teaming up with crypto artists and visionary artists including Android Jones to bring their art into the Cloud City Metaverse. Purpose ------- The overall purpose of Cloud City is to make Metaverse concepts and implementations tangible to street level participants and effectively capture imagination space in co-creative concepts with Cloud City participants. Cloud City is a vessel for conveying visual memes which capture the imagination of the Network participants. Yuval Harari and Joseph Campbell demonstrated with their historical surveys that throughout human evolution, people have settled in villages up to 150 people in population, before fragmenting off into another group. Any society larger than a village requires a shared mythology which acts as symbolic references or shared synaptic connections in the collective consciousness which forms the basis of a system of trust within a group larger than what is possible to be personally friends with. This is carefully done in Cloud City without being denominational or stoke divisions amongst existing deeply embedded memetic frameworks. Memetic frameworks are deployed with the intention to bring people to work together across a broader real-world society through Cloud City mythologies and integration access with the wider Metaverse.
