These transformations are created through artificial intelligence systems customized by the artist, and represent the expansive fragmentation and reassembly of both the physical world and our personal narratives. [ Shifting Ground by Katie Morris | Verse --------------------------------------- Shifting Ground\* is a long-term project that explores the transient nature of identity, memory, and presence in a world increasingly mediated by data collection and usage. '_**_Composition no. 99'_ continues Schwittlick’s practice of algorithmically abstracting the vast amounts of data generated by his own digital activity. The works in this series specifically use cursor movement data that the artist has been collecting from his computer for years, which is then processed through a custom AI tool that seeks patterns in those movements.
