# Ethereum development team tests staking withdrawals on devnet

Ethereum developers have released a devnet network to test validator staking withdrawals, a feature currently missing from the network. Ethereum developer Marius Van Der Wijden said that devnet will help Ethereum prepare to open validator pledge withdrawals next year. There are currently six teams participating in the development network, including Lodestar, Teku, Lighthouse, Nethermind and Geth. “This is the first development network to support withdrawals for all of these implementations, which is a big step forward. It also helps other customers test their deployments by joining the network,” he said. In addition, the ongoing development network only focuses on withdrawals, and the separate functions of the Shanghai upgrade have yet to be tested.
