# The First $CONTEST Contest

Welcome to the first round of $CONTEST-funded, community-aligned contests.

This is your chance to propose and build the mini-apps, infrastructure, or tools that will power the future of contests on Farcaster.

The ContestDAO (aspirational for now. Aim to be fully-DAO within the next year) is offering **ETH, visibility, and $CONTEST alignment** to the **top 7 selected projects**.

**TLDR**
--------

Submit a contest-related project by **July 11, 7:11PM UTC**.  
Top 7 win **ETH + $CONTEST LP alignment**.  
Submission costs **0.0007 ETH**, which adds to already existing prize pool.  
Must use a **Clanker token on Base**.  
Voting runs **July 11–16** for $CONTEST holders.

**What Counts as a “Contest” Project?**
---------------------------------------

A qualifying project should help people **create, run, or participate in contests**. It might include:

*   **Mini-apps** for contests, such as:
    
    *   Content-specific contests (art, memes, writing, code)
        
    *   Novel contest mechanics or entry methods
        
*   **Reputation or reward infrastructure  
    **How can we track contest participation across ecosystems?
    
*   **Submission and review tooling  
    **Can we better detect farming, plagiarism, or low-effort spam?
    
*   **Channel-native or token-powered flows  
    **Contests within Farcaster channels or tied to community tokens  
    

You can build something general-purpose or tailored to a specific channel, community, or app.

**Do I need to be able to build it myself?**
--------------------------------------------

It’s best if you can, or if there is someone who has already agreed to help.

Potentially, you could pay a dev with the eth from the contest and from fees on your clanker, or try to vibe-code a version yourself with AI, but it’s best if you have someone with technical expertise lined up to help.

Launching a Token
-----------------

You can launch a token using, [https://www.clanker.world/](https://www.clanker.world/) or any of the clanker affiliate partner websites, mini-apps, or by tagging @clanker or @bnkr on Farcaster.

▼**Using a Token You Already Have**

  

You can enter this contest using the token from your existing project (your token is deployed via Clanker (or a Clanker-affiliated partner like Bankr) on **Base)**. 

It will work best when  there is mutual benefit between your contest build and **your other project**. Example:  
You run an onchain publishing platform with a token? You could submit a mini-app for writing contests using that token.

Want to keep your existing project focused, but still participate?  
You can launch a **new Clanker token** for your "contest-focused side project," and **commit to aligning it with your main token** (e.g., use 50% of the eth to buy your other token, or lock 30% of the new token with your existing token into an LP). That way, contest exposure can help your broader ecosystem.

**How to Submit**
-----------------

You’ll need to submit the following:

1.  **Project Name**
    
2.  **Token Address and Link on** [clanker.world](http://clanker.world) (must be deployed on Base via Clanker or a Clanker partner)
    
3.  **Pitch  
    **– What are you building?  
    – How will you do it?  
    – Include a clear **short pitch** and **link out** to additional context (blog post, video, screenshots, mockups, etc.)
    
4.  **Farcaster Post Link  
    **– Post about your project on Farcaster (use /contestdao or post elsewhere)  
      
    

👉 **Submit by July 11 at 7:11PM UTC.  
**You’ll need to pay a 0.0007 ETH entry fee, which goes back into the prize pool (so, if you get top 7, you will get more than the initial prize eth, depending on how many people submit)

**How Voting Works**
--------------------

Voting is open to anyone who held **$CONTEST** at the time of the snapshot (taken sometime later today).

*   **Voting opens**: July 11 at 7:11PM UTC
    
*   **Voting closes**: July 16 at 7:11PM UTC
    
*   **Top 7 projects** (by total votes) will receive ETH + token alignment with $CONTEST  
    

Your $CONTEST tokens = your voice in shaping the contest ecosystem.  
Choose the builders and tools you want to see funded and launched.

**What Makes a Good Pitch?**
----------------------------

Keep it:

*   Clear and concise
    
*   Visually supported (mockups and videos > walls of text)
    
*   Practical Roadmap (show how it could realistically get built or launched)
    
*   Aligned (explain how your token, $CONTEST, or Farcaster fit into the plan)
