Aztec is an layer 2 solution built on top of Ethereum. Its primary goal is to bring scalability and privacy to the Ethereum network. By using zero-knowledge proofs, Aztec enables affordable, private crypto payments.

*   **Does Aztec Network have a Token?**
    

Aztec currently does not have a token. Venture capitals such as a16z and Paradigm are backing Aztec, so it is expected that they will launch a token and airdrop it afterward.

In an interview with [@CoinDesk](https://twitter.com/CoinDesk) in December 2022, Aztec co-founder Tom Pocock said that the team is considering launching a governance token, but they are currently focused on building the technology and expanding the network’s adoption.
