# Scroll Testnet: Step to step Guide by CrazyDrops

**What's Scroll?**

Scroll is a new Layer-2 solution aiming at providing unlimited scalability, lightning-fast confirmation latency, full decentralization, and trustless privacy. It does so by building upon zk-Rollup and high-performance off-chain distributed systems.

Scroll proposes a new hierarchical zero-knowledge proof system architecture, a new interaction model for DApps on L2, and a new L2 mining mechanism Scroll solutions provide the best user experience in the future, including both the lowest fees and the fastest transaction speed

**What is in Pre-Alpha Testnet of Scroll ?**

The Pre-Alpha Testnet consists of _Scroll L1_ and _Scroll L2_ test network (a fork of Ethereum utilizing a PoA-based consensus, and a zero-knowledge rollup testnet deployed on top of the former). There are some pre-deployed demo applications: a faucet on _Scroll L1_, a bridge between _Scroll L1_ and _Scroll L2_ based on the [Hop Exchange](https://hop.exchange/) UI, a fork of [Uniswap V2](https://uniswap.org/) running on _Scroll L2_, block explorers for both _Scroll L1_ and _L2_ using [Blockscout](https://blockscout.com/), and a rollup explorer.
