# Resident Evil Village

**_Resident Evil Village_** is a 2021 [survival horror game](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survival_horror_game) developed and published by [Capcom](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capcom). It is the sequel to [_Resident Evil 7: Biohazard_](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_Evil_7:_Biohazard) (2017). Players control [Ethan Winters](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethan_Winters), who searches for his kidnapped daughter in a village filled with mutant creatures. _Village_ maintains survival horror elements from previous [_Resident Evil_](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_Evil) games, with players scavenging environments for items and managing resources. However, it adds more action-oriented gameplay, with higher enemy counts and a greater emphasis on combat.
