Antes que nada, pongámonos en contexto. El concepto de staking surge dentro del ámbito de las **Finanzas Descentralizadas (DeFi).** ¿Qué son exactamente las DeFi? Se refieren a los servicios financieros peer-to-peer que operan en blockchains públicas. Las DeFi surgieron como una respuesta innovadora al auge de Bitcoin, ofreciendo una alternativa diferente para llevar a cabo actividades financieras en medio de la crisis económica de 2007.

**Términos a tomar nota para no perderse** 👀 📝

1.  **TradFi:** Finanzas tradicionales (banca tradicional).
    
2.  **CeFi:** Combinación entre finanzas tradicionales como descentralizada (exchanges centralizados como binance o ripio, son parte de la cultura crypto pero centralizados).
    
3.  **DeFi:** Finanzas descentralizadas (proyecto metapool, dYdX, 1inch, Uniswap).
    

**¿Qué es staking?**

Proceso donde bloqueas tus tokens para apoyar la seguridad en el blockchain y a cambio recibes recompensas. La recompensa depende de dónde haces staking.

**¿Cómo funciona el staking?**

El staking busca incrementar el valor de las criptomonedas en la cartera del usuario. Para lograrlo, se aprovechan mecanismos de recompensas que mantienen los tokens bloqueados en un sistema.

**Para hacer staking 💰**

1.  Compra tokens de la criptomoneda deseada.
    
2.  Deposita los tokens en una cartera de staking específica.
    
3.  La cartera usará tus tokens para validar transacciones.
    
4.  A cambio, recibirás recompensas en la misma criptomoneda.
    

**Más tokens bloqueados = más probabilidades de mayores recompensas.**

**¿Cuáles son las ventajas y desventajas de hacer staking?** 🤔

3.  Consigue "moneditas gratuitas" para hacer staking de prueba😀 Podemos tener esas monedas (tFIL) en el siguiente faucet: [https://faucet.calibnet.chainsafe-fil.io/funds.html](https://faucet.calibnet.chainsafe-fil.io/funds.html). Coloca la dirección de tu wallet y dar click en "Send Funds".

4.  Listo! Ya tienes monedas. Con ello, regresamos a la página de FILLiquid y vamos a stakear. En la sección de "Stake", coloca un monto de monedas FIL que tengas disponible para stakear y das click en "Confirm".

Ten en cuenta que esto es solo una simulación usando una red de prueba. No recibirás recompensas reales al hacer staking en la red de prueba.

Para hacer staking con criptomonedas reales, necesitarás utilizar una plataforma de staking real. Antes de hacer staking con cualquier criptomoneda, es importante investigar y elegir una plataforma de confianza.

It refers to peer-to-peer financial services that operate on public blockchains. DeFi emerged as an innovative response to the rise of Bitcoin, offering a different alternative for carrying out financial activities amidst the 2007 economic crisis.

**Terms to note so you don't miss out:**

*   **TradFi: Traditional finance (traditional banking).**

**What is staking?**

A process where you lock up your tokens to support security on the blockchain and in return you receive rewards. The reward depends on where you stake.

**How does staking work?**

Staking seeks to increase the value of cryptocurrencies in the user's portfolio. To achieve this, reward mechanisms are used that keep tokens locked in a system.

**To stake**

1.  Buy tokens of the desired cryptocurrency.
    
2.  Deposit the tokens into a specific staking wallet.
    
3.  The wallet will use your tokens to validate transactions.
    
4.  In return, you will receive rewards in the same cryptocurrency.
    
5.  More tokens locked = more chances of higher rewards.
    

**An ingenious solution: Liquid staking**

Liquid staking solves the problem of token locking by allowing users to stake their tokens without locking them.

**What are the advantages and disadvantages of staking?**

**Advantages**

Self-custody: When you stake, you don't let anyone else handle your cryptocurrencies. You have full control of your funds and can withdraw them at any time.

Liquidity concerns: Your cryptocurrencies will be locked for a certain period of time while you are staking. This means that you will not be able to sell them or use them for other transactions during that time.

Shared responsibility (advantage and disadvantage).

Volatility: The cryptocurrency market is volatile, which means the value of your investments can fluctuate significantly.

Scam risk: It is important to choose a reliable and secure staking platform to avoid scams. Carefully research the platform before depositing your cryptocurrencies

**CAUTION with security in the crypto world because one of its weak points is that it is full of scams, so here are some tips to protect your security:**

**Now, let's take action, how to stake?**

**STAKING SIMULATION USING A TESTNET**

1.  To get started, we will test a testnet called FILLiquid
    
2.  **Go to the FILLiquid page and click on "Join Testnet".**
    
3.  **Connect your wallet to the testnet. In this case, I used Metamask.**
    
4.  Get "free coins" to stake for testing We can get those coins (tFIL) from the following faucet: [https://faucet.calibnet.chainsafe-fil.io/funds.html](https://faucet.calibnet.chainsafe-fil.io/funds.html). Enter your wallet address and click "Send Funds".
    
5.  Done! You now have coins. With that, go back to the FILLiquid page and let's stake. In the "Stake" section, enter an amount of FIL coins that you have available to stake and click "Confirm".
    
6.  Congratulations! You have successfully staked your first tFIL coins on the FILLiquid testnet.
    
    **Please note that this is just a simulation using a testnet. You will not receive any real rewards from staking on the testnet.**
    
    **To stake real cryptocurrencies, you will need to use a real staking platform.**
    

Before staking any cryptocurrency, it is important to do your research and choose a reputable platform.
