# My first Web3 entry : The  Identity conundrum

At a glance, web3 identity seems a major hurdle to mass adoption. How to juggle with 1 real entity and multiple identities. Should it be a main wallet with multiple aliases ? A unique token with verified properties (KYC) allowing to link many wallets and aliases ? Most people are happy with a limited amount of aliases / identities. According to Gmail, the average number of email accounts per user is **1.7** but nefarious actors do abuse the system to create fake identities to scam.  
Some kind of verification process is critical to generate trust in any ID system. I plan to dig a bit further, I am sure very smart people are already working on that, curious to see what are the current solution. Are we missing any building blocks ?
