**What is DAO Voting ?**

A DAO, or “Decentralized Autonomous Organization” is a community-led entity with no central authority. It is fully autonomous and transparent.

Community members create proposals about the future operations of the protocol and then come together to vote on each proposal. Proposals that achieve some predefined level of consensus are then accepted and enforced by the rules instantiated within the smart contract.

To be a DAO Voter, we need to hold or stake the governance token of the project and then you will be eligible for voting.

**1️⃣ Uniswap:**

*   Get some $UNI [token](https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/uniswap/) on ETH Mainnet.
    
*   You can buy on Uniswap, Sushiswap or any other DEX
    
*   Now go to [app.uniswap.org/#/vote](http://app.uniswap.org/#/vote) and hit **“Unlock Voting”**
    
*   A pop-up window will appear. Hit on “**Self Delegate”.** You should then be able to see your tokens as “Self-delegated”. You will now be able to vote on FUTURE proposals (not past and not current ones!)

*   You can buy on Uniswap, Sushiswap or any other DEX
    
*   Go to [app.aave.com/governance/](http://app.aave.com/governance/)
    
*   Click on **“Delegate”**

**3️⃣** **Curve:**

Steps to vote with $CRV:

*   Get some $CRV [Token](https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/curve-dao-token/) on ETH Mainnet.
    
*   Go to [dao.curve.fi/locker](https://dao.curve.fi/locker)
    
*   Enter the amount of $CRV that you want to vote-lock (this will become your voting power as $veCRV). If you want to vote-lock all of your $CRV, simply hit on **“Max”**
    
*   Select the **time** **period** you want to vote-lock your $CRV for. We went for a maximum period (4 years) as it would accrue the maximum voting power over time.
    

_Note that you will NOT be able to reverse this step and will NOT be able to sell your $CRV for 4 years._

*   Hit **“Create lock”** (requires gas). You will then see a confirmation screen showing how many $CRV has been vote-locked (i.e. became $veCRV) and for how long.
